Project triggers look out for events happening across projects and automate minor workflows that are important for the smooth running of projects. In this article, we will look at a few sample workflows you can automate using project triggers.

List of triggers and sample workflows

Here are a few workflows that can be automated using project triggers:

Project created

These triggers are set off when projects get created.

Example: When a project is created with an ARR greater than 100k$, import the Simple onboarding template.

It can have multiple action blocks if the ARR is greater than 300k$, import the Mid-market onboarding template, and if the ARR is greater than 500k$, import the Enterprise template.

Field is updated

These triggers are set off when any project field is updated:

Example: When the status is blocked, notify project owner and then archive the project.

Customer invited

These triggers are set off when any customer is invited to the project

Example: When the customer is invited, send welcome emails and change the status of the project to in-progress and if customers

Placeholder resolved

These triggers are set off when a customer placeholder is replaced by the customer name.

Example 1:

When a customer placeholder is resolved, replace the placeholder value with the actual customer in the project list field and then send welcome emails

Example 2: When the team member placeholder is resolved, turn soft allocations into hard allocations

Project archived

These triggers are set off when a project is archived:

Example: When a project is archived, Notify project members in Slack and Email.

Project Deleted

These triggers are set off when a project is deleted

Example: When a project is deleted, Notify project members in Slack and In-App.
