Rocketlane’s Spotlight feature helps you draw attention to critical tasks, documents, shared views, or chat messages. By adding a spotlight, you make these items stand out, prompting your customers or team to take action, whether it’s completing tasks, reviewing documents, or responding to messages. This feature helps you prioritise important tasks, ensuring key items aren’t overlooked, and boosting engagement with your team members.

Below are the list of features that you can spotlight in Rocketlane:

Tasks (Task Pane View, Project Plan View)

When viewing the project plan, you can spotlight tasks in each phase to remind team members of their importance:

  • Select the task you want to spotlight.

  • Click the sunlight icon.

  • Add a label to convey your message.

  • Click "Add" to apply the spotlight.

Alternatively, in the task pane view, click the More Actions button and repeat the same steps.

Forms

You can also spotlight forms within your project to ensure key forms are highlighted for your team. Here's how to do it:

  • Under a project phase, click the dropdown next to Add Task and select Add Form.

  • Choose a form template to create the form.

  • Once the form is created, follow the same steps as spotlighting a task to add a spotlight to the form.

Spaces

In the Spaces section, you can spotlight any document within private or shared spaces to draw attention to critical information.

  • Navigate to the document you wish to spotlight, select the more actions button

  • Under the more actions, click the add spotlight button

Chat (Task Chat, Project Chat)

You can spotlight specific messages within the chat window of a task or in the project chat, ensuring essential communication stands out.

  • Navigate to the chat you wish to spotlight, and hover over the message for the more actions button to appear

  • Under the more actions, click the add spotlight button

Task List Saved View

In the List section, you can filter tasks by assignee, responsible party, due date, created by, or task status. Save this filtered view as either a private or shared list. Once saved, use the More Actions button and click the Spotlight icon to highlight the view for your team.

Files

In the All Files section of your project, you can spotlight files added by you or your teammates. To spotlight a file:

  • To the left of the file’s name, you’ll see the spotlight icon appear.

  • Click the spotlight icon to highlight the file, drawing attention to it.
